Aqua4D chosen as one of the prestigious “1000 Solutions” for a sustainable future
After a long appraisal process, Aqua-4D has been officially named one of the “1000 Solutions” chosen by the World Alliance for Efficient Solutions.
This will further raise the company’s profile around the world, and bring its sustainable benefits to more than ever before.
What is the World Alliance for Efficient Solutions?
Rather than focusing on environmental problems, this new initiative aims to support enterprises which provide real workable solutions going forward. Together, “1000 solutions to change the world” have been selected, including everything from CO2 capture to deep sea wind farms to electric cars.
According to Piccard, enterprises such as Aqua-4D create jobs, profits and boost clean economic growth while alleviating the issues facing our planet.
Piccard and his foundation decided that for too long there has been a focus on either ecological or economic benefits.
They want to bridge that gap, and show that it’s possible to protect the planet at the same time as pursuing clean economic growth – it’s not a zero-sum game.
This means that each of the 1000 Solutions have been chosen as they’re inherently innovative: they’re not just ecological but logical, and would succeed even without climate change.
In the organization’s own words, “This label serves as a new and credible symbol that can be applied to products, processes and services and serves as a guarantee of quality to those looking to implement clean solutions, and affords a competitive edge to the innovators behind them.”
To qualify, a company must first meet the following criteria:
- must be a product, process, or service,
- must have reached the maturity stage of at-scale prototype testing in a laboratory, and
- contributes to the achievement of at least one of the following five Sustainable Development Goals
In other words, it must be scalable, profit-making, and bring benefits to people and planet.
With this new recognition as an Efficient Solution, Aqua-4D is in an even better position to spread these benefits far and wide – leading to a more profitable and more sustainable agriculture while caring for the natural world.
